Biography

Professor of Computer Science, Chief Scientists of Intelligent Systems Laboratory of the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Received MS degree in mechanics from the Military Air Force Engineering Academy after A.F.Mozhaysky in St. Petersburg (1960) and MS degree in mathematics from Mathematical and Mechanical Department of the St. Petersburg State University (1970); received his Ph.D. degree (1967) and Doctor of Technical Sciences degree (1973) in the area “Space Vehicle Optimal Control” from the Military Air Force Engineering Academy after A.F.Mozhaysky in St. Petersburg; Professor in Computer Science of the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1990).

Author of more than 400 publications in referred journals, books and conference proceedings, 9 monographs and co-editor of 13 issues of Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence and Computer and Communication in Information Science (Springer), Editorial Board member of International Journal on Data Science and Analytics (Springer). Served as Invited Editor for special issue of IEEE Intelligent Systems journal (2009), member of Russian and European Associations of Artificial Intelligence, IEEE Computer Science, International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multi-agent Systems (IFAAMAS), International Society of Information Fusion (ISIF).
